Theatre Intelligence is being built by Michael Lopez, a Senior Network Monitoring Specialist and Platform Infrastructure Engineer with over two decades of experience designing purpose-built monitoring platforms. His work in cinema monitoring began when he was engaged by one of the world's largest cinema technology companies to architect a custom network monitoring system specifically engineered to address the alert fatigue and missed failures that plagued generic tools. This is not his first time solving these problems for the industry.
In the years that followed, Michael took on some of the most demanding monitoring challenges at enterprise scale, designing and engineering a high-throughput behavioural analytics platform for one of the world's largest financial institutions, built to process in excess of a petabyte of data weekly across a workforce of tens of thousands. The engineering challenges at that scale required novel architectural solutions that few ever encounter. That depth of experience is now being channelled back into an industry he knows better than most, and into a platform the cinema world has long deserved.

The Team
Michael Lopez
Michael Lopez has spent over two decades at the intersection of complex infrastructure and purpose-built monitoring. His career began in the telecommunications industry in 2000, working as a Network Monitoring Specialist at a time when large-scale network visibility was still an emerging discipline. That foundation gave him a deep, hands-on understanding of how monitoring systems behave under real-world pressure, and what separates tools that genuinely work from tools that simply look the part.
From telecom, his path led into the cinema technology industry, where he was brought in by one of the world's largest cinema technology organisations to design and build a custom network monitoring platform from scratch, one that actually understood the equipment it was watching rather than treating a projector the same as a printer on a corporate LAN. That work established a philosophy that has carried through everything since: the only way to build something that truly works is to deeply understand the environment it operates in.
In the years that followed, his career expanded into some of the most demanding monitoring and data engineering challenges at enterprise scale. He designed and built a large-scale behavioural analytics platform for one of the world's largest financial institutions, an infrastructure built to process well in excess of a petabyte of data each week across a workforce spanning tens of thousands of people. The engineering required to operate at that volume and velocity, reliably and in real time, demanded solutions that pushed well beyond conventional approaches.
Theatre Intelligence represents a return to where it all started, bringing that accumulated depth of experience back to the cinema industry and building the platform it has always needed but never had.
